Patch The Pirate Welcomes You To The New Thrifty Club
It's a great time to be a member of AMFCU's Thrifty Club, a special club for children ages twelve and under. There are new and exciting changes coming to Thrifty Club this year.
Patch the Pirate is our new mascot, and he wants to make savings fun. Every time a young member makes a deposit of $1 or more they will receive a prize from Patch's Treasure Chest. They will also receive a Treasure Card. Every time a deposit of $1 or more is made they will get two stamps for their Patch the Pirate Treasure Card (one if child is not present: does not include direct deposit). Once the card is filled with stamps it can be turned in for a prize. Members can even save full cards to turn in later for bigger and better prizes (prizes will be posted on this website). There will also be a quarterly drawing for members that have made at least five deposits of $1 or more during the quarter. The winner will have $20 deposited into their account.
Patch also has a new 12-month Certificate of Deposit just for Thrifty Club members that can be opened with as little as $100. Since the money has been promised to AMFCU for one year, Patch will pay a higher rate of interest. This means Thrifty Club members will make extra money, adding to their treasures.
Thrifty
Club members will receive a newsletter twice a year from Patch,
as well as receive a birthday card on their birthday. Thrifty
Club also has events just for our members including Youth
Savings Week, Halloween activities, a visit from Santa, and
coloring contests. There's a fun website link to Googleplex
that has fun activities just for our younger members, too.
Thrifty Club is a fun and adventurous way to save. It's important for children of all ages to learn the fundamentals of financial management. This program is designed to teach today's youth the merits of saving their money. Children build responsible, life long money management habits by:
- Watching
their savings grow
- Making basic
financial transactions
- Learning
the value of saving
