What is a Youth Advisory Board?

The Youth Advisory Board serves Augusta Metro Federal Credit Union, providing a voice for young adults in how our credit union can better serve members 18 to 25 years of age. The mission of the Advisory Board is to improve our services through young adult involvement.

What are the qualifications to be appointed to the Youth Advisory Board?

  • You must be enrolled in a college in one of our membership counties (Richmond, Burke, Columbia, McDuffie, Aiken, Jefferson, Edgefield)
  • You will need a GPA of 3.0 or higher. (If you are an incoming Freshman AMFCU will review your high school grades until you have received an official GPA from the college you are attending).
  • You must be able to have time to give to the Board and willing to serve one full academic year.
  • If you are appointed to the Board you will need to become a member of Augusta Metro FCU and your account must remain in good standing during your tenure.
  • You need to show leadership and be actively involved in any projects or discussions.

What are the duties of Youth Advisory Board members?

  • Members are required to meet on a monthly basis.
  • Members will review products and services offered by the credit union and make recommendations on improvements that will entice younger members.
  • You may be asked to conduct surveys and/or complete questionnaires regarding promotions, products and services.
  • Members will need to elect a Spokesperson that will attend at least one Board of Directors meeting to present ideas and make recommendations on behalf of the Youth Advisory Board.
