Expands Field of Membership
Now serves everyone in 6 county area

On August 17th the Board of Directors for Augusta Metro FCU voted unanimously to change our field of membership from a Multi-Sponsor Employee Group (SEG) to a Community Based Field of Membership. Now everyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in AIken, Edgefield, Richmond, Columbia, McDuffie, and Burke Counties is eligible to join.

This is a significant milestone in Augusta Metro FCU's history. We have always been focused on the financial well being of our members and our fture availability to serve the membership. In recent years the demand from the public to be able to join Augusta Metro FCU has been overwhelming.

There is a great advantage of operating with a community based field of membership. Now Augusta Metro FCU doesn't have to specifically identify and qualify employer groups in order for individuals to join. Our 6 county area opens the door to membership to over 400,000 people in the Aiken-Augusta area. To you, a current member of Augusta Metro FCU, you will feel no direct change from this new charte. Existing relationships with SEG's will still be maintained. Your family members are still eligible for membership as well. What you will experience, however, will be an indirect benefit of more people joining Augusta Metro FCU. As more people join, we will grow together. Augusta Metro FCU will be able to offer higher dividends on savings and lower rates on loans. New services such as Courtesty Pay will be offered. Ultimately, we will all see the mission statement of Augusta Metro FCU come to life: "To be the primary financial institution providing our members with essential services to achieve their financial security."
